The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts generally hot daytime conditions across Thailand on Tuesday (24 January), with morning fog in several regions and isolated thundershowers in parts of the central, eastern, and southern areas.
• Morning conditions are expected to be cool with fog in parts of the north, with isolated thundershowers forecast mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, and Tak. Temperatures are forecast to range between 19–24 degrees Celsius (minimum) and 34–36 degrees Celsius (maximum), while mountaintops may experience cold to very cold conditions with minimum temperatures between 7–15 degrees Celsius
• The northeastern region is forecast to experience cool morning conditions with minimum temperatures between 21–23 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 33–36 degrees Celsius. Mountaintop areas may remain cool to cold with minimum temperatures between 13–18 degrees Celsius
• Central and Bangkok Metropolitan regions are expected to experience hot daytime conditions, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34–37 degrees Celsius and easterly winds at 10–20 kilometres per hour.
• In the eastern region, hot weather is forecast with isolated thundershowers mainly in Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Winds may reach 15–35 kilometres per hour, with wave heights around 1 meter and 1–2 meters offshore.
• Southern Thailand (east coast) is forecast to experience isolated thundershowers mainly in Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani. Winds may range between 15–35 kilometres per hour, with wave heights of 1–2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas. On the west coast, isolated thundershowers are expected mainly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi, with similar wind and wave conditions.
