As per reports, the Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning for snowfall covering parts of Wales and central England, valid from 1600 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on Wednesday (18 February) until 0600 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) on Thursday (19 February).
• The warning states that a period of rainfall and snow is forecast later on Wednesday (18 February) and overnight into Thursday (19 February), with two to five centimetres of snowfall potentially accumulating quite widely above 150 to 200 metres, and 10 to 15 centimetres possible above 250 to 300 metres in parts of mid and southeast Wales, as well as Herefordshire and Shropshire.
• Strong east to northeasterly winds are forecast to accompany the wet weather, which may exacerbate impacts.
• Affected locations in England include Herefordshire; Shropshire; Staffordshire; Warwickshire; Worcestershire; West Midlands (metropolitan county); Gloucestershire; Oxfordshire; Telford and Wrekin (unitary authority).
• Affected locations in Wales include Blaenau Gwent; Bridgend; Caerphilly; Carmarthenshire; Ceredigion; Conwy; Denbighshire; Gwynedd; Merthyr Tydfil; Monmouthshire; Neath Port Talbot; Newport; Pembrokeshire; Powys; Rhondda Cynon Taf; Swansea; Torfaen; Wrexham.
