BOM issues fire weather warning across multiple Australian states on Saturday (31 January)

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a Fire Weather Warning for multiple fire weather districts across New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory for Saturday (31 January).

• In New South Wales (NSW), warm and dry conditions with fresh to gusty west to southwesterly winds are forecast across parts of western NSW, with showers and storms possible during the daytime. Extreme fire danger is forecast for the Upper Central West Plains and Eastern Riverina fire weather districts.
• In Victoria, warm and dry conditions are expected to develop following morning showers and isolated storms. Fresh to gusty south to southwesterly winds during the afternoon are forecast to elevate fire danger across the North East fire weather district.
• In Western Australia, hot and dry conditions combined with strong and gusty east to southeasterly winds are expected to elevate fire danger along parts of the central west coast. Extreme fire danger is forecast for the Midwest Coast and Lesueur fire weather districts.
• In South Australia, hot and dry conditions with fresh to strong south to southeasterly winds are forecast to result in extreme fire danger across the North East Pastoral fire weather district.
• In the Northern Territory, hot and dry conditions along with fresh south to southeasterly winds are expected to drive extreme fire danger over the southern parts of the Simpson East fire weather district.
