As per reports, the Argentine Ministry of Health’s latest Boletín Epidemiológico Nacional covering the period from 18 December 2025 to 16 January 2026, has confirmed a rising number of influenza A (H3N2) infections of the subclado K variant across multiple provinces.
• So far, 28 cases have been confirmed in 14 provinces including Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, and Tierra del Fuego.
• The province of Mendoza reported the first confirmed death associated with H3N2 in the country as of Tuesday (20 January), involving a 74-year-old Spanish national.
• Surveillance indicates both hospitalized and ambulatory cases across age groups, with vaccination coverage among confirmed cases at approximately 21 percent.
• Ongoing monitoring and sequencing remain active under national health protocols.
