As per reports, in the wake of the recent blast in New Delhi, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued a nationwide advisory mandating enhanced security measures across all Indian airports. Every flight will now undergo mandatory secondary inspections at boarding gates or ladder points before take-off, covering passengers, crew, and cabin areas as an additional layer of verification beyond routine checks.

• BCAS has also directed comprehensive searches of aircraft, including catering trolleys and service compartments, to rule out any potential security lapses. Non-scheduled flights, such as chartered services and air ambulances, which often operate outside regular commercial schedules, will now face stricter surveillance.
• Random baggage checks and intensified monitoring of ground handling and catering staff have been implemented to further strengthen airport security. The advisory extends to airstrips, airfields, air force stations, helipads, flying schools, and aviation training institutes, ensuring nationwide vigilance.
• Authorities clarified that these measures are temporary and precautionary, remaining in force until the evolving security situation is reviewed. The enhanced protocols come as investigations into the Delhi blast continue, with intelligence and enforcement agencies maintaining close coordination to prevent any spillover risks at critical civil aviation infrastructure.
