As per reports, following are the updates on the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) as of Wednesday (24 September):
• JLR’s production suspension has been extended again, as disruptions continue after the cyberattack. Factory staff have been told to stay off work until at least Wednesday (01 October) at JLR’s factories in Halewood on Merseyside and Solihull in the West Midlands, and its engine manufacturing site in Wolverhampton.
• Approximately 33,000 workers have been asked to stay at home until work resumes at the various factories, which produce roughly 1,000 vehicles per day.
• Business Secretary Peter Kyle and Industry Minister Chris McDonald visited the West Midlands on Tuesday (23 September) for the first time since the cyberattack, to meet with JLR officials and firms in its supply chain.
• At present, JLR is engaged in a forensic investigation of the cyberattack, and is looking to commence a “controlled restart” of operations in subsequent days.
