As per reports, heavy rainfall has been reported across several areas of Moscow and the Moscow region. Despite the adverse weather, Moscow’s major airports, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo, confirmed that operations remain normal, with flights arriving and departing according to schedule.
• Airport representatives stressed that only minor delays, typically less than two hours, may occur, as such disruptions are common and not directly tied to weather conditions. Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, does not record such short delays in its statistics.
• All Moscow airports are equipped as all-weather facilities, minimizing the likelihood of significant operational disruption.
• The Hydrometeorological Center have issued a yellow weather warning, indicating potentially hazardous conditions in the capital region until 1000 hours (local time) on Thursday (21 August). The precipitation may be accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 14 metres per second. Reports regarding flight disruptions or delays will be reported via the official sources.
