According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), different weather warnings have been issued across Gujarat on Saturday (21 June);

• A yellow alert is in place for thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds in Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Junagarh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Anand, Khera, Panchmahal, Vadodra, Bharuch and Chhota Udepur. A warning for heavy rainfall is also issued in most of the areas except Devbhoomi Dwarka, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagarh and Gir Somnath.
• Orange alert for very heavy rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds is issued for Kachchh, Surendranagar, Patan, Mahesana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Narmada, Tapi, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad and Dadar & Nagar Haveli.
• A red alert for extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, squall and strong surface winds is issued for Banaskantha and Sabar Kantha. Further warnings can be accessed via https://mausam.imd.gov.in/imd_latest/contents/districtwise-warning_mc.php?id=9
• The district administration of Surat has also deployed a team of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) (22 rescuers) at Vav, Kamrej and a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) (30 rescuers) at Olpad to provide quick response.
• Meghraj in Aravalli district received 3.39 inches of rainfall in just two hours between 1200 hours and 1400 hours on Saturday (21 June). This was the highest recorded rainfall in the state during the eight hour period monitored by the State Emergency Operation Center from 0600 hours to 1400 hours.
• Umarpada in Surat district recorded 3.11 inches, with most of the rain falling in a concentrated burst between 1000 hours and 1200 hours. Sagbara in Narmada district also saw significant rainfall at 2.2 inches, followed by Modasa with 1.97 inches. Apart from these, only Kavant and Kukarmunda talukas (sub distrcit) received more than an inch of rain.
• Additionally, due to very heavy rainfall in the central Gujarat region on Friday night (20 June), the Deo Dam in Panchmahal has been put on alert, with two gates of the dam opened to release over 400 cusecs of water.
• Apart from that, the Sukhi Dam in Chhota Udepur has also released over 950 cusecs of water, with two gates opened by 0.3 meters.
