The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow alert for fog in parts of West Bengal on Thursday (04 January). Fog conditions can be expected in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Murshidabad, Birbhum, Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Nadia, and Malda districts.

Yellow alerts for fog have further been issued for the same districts until Saturday (06 January).
