Description:
As per reports, the Khap Panchayats, along with farmers’ organisations, labour organisations, employee organisations, and political parties, have scheduled a statewide road blockade in Haryana on Friday (14 August) from 1100 hours to 1400 hours (local time).
Following are the latest updates available:
• The protest has been scheduled due to police’s failure to arrest all the accused involved in the murder of a dairy operator from Hisar on Tuesday (04 August).
• The protesting group will observe a blockade at all toll plazas at the National Highways in Haryana.
• Earlier on Thursday (13 August), Inspector General of Police, Hisar, initiated a dialogue with the protestors; however, the organising groups maintained their position and expressed their intention to continue the blockade.

Impact:
• Due to the planned blockade at toll plazas, longer waiting times and traffic congestion around toll booths can be anticipated, particularly during peak travel periods. The disruption may result in slower vehicle movement, extended queues and temporary delays for motorists approaching or exiting the toll plazas.
• Local authorities may deploy additional police personnel in and around the affected toll plazas to manage crowds, regulate vehicular movement and minimise disruptions. Increased monitoring and traffic-management measures, including barricading and controlled vehicle movement, may also be implemented depending on the situation.
