Description:
As per reports, a major fire broke out at a storage and repair hall on Marginei Street in Sector 01, Bucharest, during the night of Thursday (13 August) into Friday (14 August).
• Firefighters deployed more than 20 specialised vehicles and managed to localize the fire. The fire affected approximately 500 square metres of a compartmentalized hall used for storage and repair activities.
• When the first firefighting crews arrived, the fire involved open flames, significant smoke emissions and a risk of further spread. Due to the very high levels of smoke, a RO-Alert warning was issued for the surrounding area to inform and warn the population.
• No casualties have been reported. Firefighters continued operations to eliminate the remaining outbreaks as of Friday (14 August). The cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the facility are not available.

• Localised disruptions are likely to continue into morning hours are firefighting operations, and emergency activities continue. Access to the immediate vicinity may be restricted.
• Heavy smoke emissions may temporarily affect air quality and visibility in areas close to the fire, potentially affecting nearby businesses, personnel and road users. Continued firefighting operations may also result in localized traffic congestion and delays.
