Power supply disruptions reported following thunderstorms in Quebec on Friday (03 July)

As per reports, more than 45,000 customers across Quebec continue to experience power supply disruptions following severe thunderstorms on Friday (03 July).

• Thunderstorms affected several regions across Quebec on Thursday (02 July). Reportedly, 140,000 customers experienced power supply disruptions across the province.
• As of Friday (03 July), the Laurentides region remains the most affected, with approximately 19,838 customers continuing to experience power supply disruptions, followed by Lanaudière with approximately 15,147 affected customers.
• Significant localised disruptions also remain in L’Assomption, where approximately 5,342 customers continue to be affected, and Mont-Tremblant, where approximately 3,216 customers remain without electricity.
• Hydro-Québec stated efforts are underway to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
• Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has lifted severe thunderstorm warnings, however heat warnings remain in effect across parts of Quebec. Temperatures are expected to reach approximately 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by high humidity, before cooler conditions are forecast to arrive on Saturday (04 July).
