According to reports, as of Wednesday (06 May), air-travel operations between India and the Middle East continue under a recovery phase with renewed security-linked schedule sensitivity, following a fresh IndiGo advisory issued after reports of missiles launched from Iran towards the UAE. While broader regional flight operations have improved, airlines continue to treat the operating environment as dynamic and subject to short-notice changes.
• IndiGo issued a fresh travel advisory after reports of four cruise missiles launched from Iran towards the UAE, warning passengers that flight schedules may change and advising them to check flight status before leaving for the airport.
• The broader regional flight situation continues to show improvement, with the Government of India stating that UAE airspace is open, Indian and UAE carriers are operating UAE–India flights, and flights continue from Saudi Arabia and Oman to India.
• Qatar-linked travel remains in a managed recovery stage, with Qatar airspace partially open and Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, and Qatar Airways operating flights from Qatar to India.
• Kuwait and Bahrain connectivity remains operational, with Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways operating Kuwait–India services, while Air India Express, IndiGo, and Gulf Air are operating Bahrain–India flights.
• India has also approved an emergency credit guarantee programme to support businesses affected by the Middle East crisis, with airlines eligible for credit support under the scheme, indicating that the aviation sector continues to face financial exposure linked to the regional situation.
