As per reports, an inclement weather warning has been issued for parts of Taiwan from Friday to Monday (17–20 April).
The following are additional details:
• On Thursday (17 April), increasing moisture due to an approaching front is expected to bring rainfall to areas north of Taoyuan, as well as Yilan and Hualien by the evening, with localized thunderstorms possible; warm and humid conditions are expected during the day, with temperatures ranging from 28–32 degree Celsius before cooling in northern regions due to a strengthening northeast monsoon; fog and low clouds may reduce visibility in Kinmen, Matsu, and parts of northern Taiwan, potentially impacting transport and aviation.
• On Saturday (18 April), the front is expected to gradually move away, with rainfall in northern Taiwan beginning to ease, while weather conditions in the plains of central and southern Taiwan are likely to stabilize; however, localized rainfall may persist in the Hualien–Taitung area and mountainous regions of central and southern Taiwan.
• On Sunday (19 April), rainfall is expected to further ease across northern regions, although scattered showers may continue in eastern and mountainous areas, with cooler temperatures likely during morning and evening hours.
• On Monday (20 April), the northeast monsoon is expected to weaken, leading to a gradual rise in temperatures and more stable weather conditions across most parts of the island, with only sporadic showers expected in eastern Taiwan.
• Additionally, due to the outer influence of Typhoon Sinlaku, long waves are expected along the northern coast of Keelung, the eastern half of Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula from Saturday (18 April) through the weekend, with similar conditions anticipated in the Matsu area on Sunday (19 April), posing risks to coastal and maritime activities.
