LowIndonesia2026-04-07T00:00:00Z

According to reports, flooding continues to affect multiple regions across Indonesia as of Wednesday (08 April), following heavy rainfall, river overflow, and infrastructure damage, resulting in access disruptions and the isolation of affected communities.

• In Central Aceh Regency, flash flooding caused the collapse of emergency bridges in Terang Engon (Silih Nara District) and Ketol District, isolating five villages, including Terang Engon, Burlah, Buge Ara, Kekuyang, and Bintang Pepara. Authorities have initiated rehabilitation efforts, with partial access now restored for small vehicles, while heavy vehicles remain unable to pass.
• Landslides have also been reported along key routes, including the Mendale-Bintang provincial road, Bintang-Simpang Kraft, the Pameu-Genting Gerbang national road, and the Takengon-Ise-Ise national road, further affecting connectivity in the region.
• In Bener Meriah Regency (Aceh), flooding has again cut off the alternative route at Wih Porak Village, Pintu Rime Gayo District, which serves as a key diversion from the Enang-Enang national road. Floodwaters remain high, preventing movement and delaying restoration efforts despite the deployment of heavy equipment.
• In Jayapura Regency (Papua), flooding caused by overflow from Lake Sentani and blocked upstream flow of the Jaifuri River has inundated several villages, including Asei Besar, Asei Kecil, Ayapo, Puai, and surrounding areas, with water levels reaching approximately one metre. Authorities have warned of potential evacuation if conditions worsen.
• In Tangerang Regency (Banten), flooding in Pasir Bolang Village, Tigaraksa District, has submerged residential areas with water levels reaching up to one metre, affecting approximately 350 residents and isolating parts of the community after road access was cut off.
• In Demak Regency (Central Java), authorities are assessing flood-affected agricultural land, with farmers being urged to report damage for insurance claims under the Rice Farming Business Insurance (AUTP) scheme. No crop failure has been confirmed so far, and assistance measures may be implemented if required.
