The Beijing Traffic Management Bureau has announced temporary adjustments to traffic management measures for motor vehicles during the Qingming Festival from Saturday (04 April) to Monday (06 April), and for the Labor Day holiday from Friday (01 May) to Tuesday (05 May), with an additional adjustment on Saturday (09 May).
During these periods, local vehicles in Beijing will not be subject to weekday peak-hour restrictions based on license plate numbers. The details are as follows:
• Non-Beijing passenger vehicles with valid entry permits for areas within the Sixth Ring Road will also be exempt from peak-hour driving restrictions between 0700 hours and 0900 hours (local time) and 1700 hours and 2000 hours (local time), as well as daytime license plate restrictions between 0900 hours and 1700 hours (local time).
• However, these vehicles will remain prohibited from entering roads within the Second Ring Road at all times, including key corridors such as Jianguomenwai Street, Fuxingmenwai Street, and Fuxing Road between Muxidi Bridge and Xinxing Bridge.
• In addition, authorities have imposed a ban on vehicles transporting hazardous goods on expressways across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This restriction will be in effect from 0000 hours (local time) on Saturday (04 April) to 2400 hours (local time) on Monday (06 April), and again from 0000 hours (local time) on Friday (01 May) to 2400 hours (local time) on Tuesday (05 May).
• The restriction applies to all categories of hazardous goods transport vehicles, including those carrying highly toxic chemicals, across expressways in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. These measures have been introduced to support smoother traffic flow and enhance safety during peak holiday travel periods.
