As per reports, a frontal system reinforced by an atmospheric river is expected to impact southern Chile between Friday (27 March) and Sunday (29 March), bringing persistent rainfall, possible thunderstorms, and strong winds across parts of Los Lagos, Aysén, and Magallanes regions, particularly in Chilean Patagonia.

• The heaviest rainfall is forecast in Puerto Edén (up to 90 mm), Caleta Tortel (80 to 90 mm), and Puerto Cisnes (40 to 50 mm). Some isolated locations may receive 90 to120 mm of rainfall within 48 hours.
• The weather system is expected to develop in two phases. The first phase on Friday (27 March) is expected to bring widespread rainfall starting during the afternoon.
• The second phase from Saturday (28 March) to Sunday (29 March) is expected to be more intense and persistent, posing the greatest risk.
• Strong winds are also forecast, with Los Lagos region expecting 50 to 80 km/h, Aysén region expecting 70 to 90 km/h, and southern island areas expecting gusts up to 100 km/h.
• Cold air persisting in higher elevations may result in snowfall at higher altitudes and sleet in lower areas, which may help reduce immediate runoff into rivers.
