According to reports, water levels at the Upper Wardha Dam have been steadily declining as of reports dated Wednesday (25 March), raising concerns over potential water shortages during the upcoming summer season. The reservoir, a key water source for the region, has seen a steady decline due to rising temperatures and increased evaporation.
• Reportedly, the dam’s storage level has fallen to approximately 54–55 percent capacity, prompting concerns over sustained water availability.
• The dam serves as a primary source of drinking water, irrigation, and industrial supply for Amravati city, as well as surrounding areas including Morshi and Warud.
• Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as water demand continues to rise with increasing heat conditions.
