Privacy Policy for DatasurfrPro

DatasurfrPro (“the App”) is developed and operated by Mitkat Advisory Services Private Limited (“Mitkat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the DatasurfrPro mobile application.

DatasurfrPro is a business risk-intelligence and monitoring application made available to authorized users of organizations that subscribe to Mitkat’s services. Access is provided via credentials issued by your organization or by Mitkat — the App does not offer public self-registration.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account InformationWhen you log in, we process your username/email and password to authenticate you. Passwords are transmitted securely and are not stored in plain text on the device.

b) Authentication TokensAfter login, session tokens are stored securely on your device using the operating system’s secure credential storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) to keep you signed in.

c) Risk-Monitoring and Watchlist DataAs part of the App’s core functionality, authorized users may enter, view, or manage:

  • Traveller and personnel information (e.g., names, travel itineraries) added by your organization for risk-monitoring purposes;
  • Watchlists, subscriptions, alert preferences, and saved searches;
  • AI-generated or AI-refined alert content created within the App.

This data is entered and controlled by your organization as part of its use of Mitkat’s services, and is processed by us as a data processor on your organization’s behalf.

d) Location InformationThe App uses Google Maps to display location-relevant risk information. If you grant permission, we may access your device’s location (“While Using the App”) to show relevant map content and nearby events. You can disable this at any time through your device settings.

e) Device and Usage InformationWe may automatically collect technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage/log data to maintain app performance, diagnose issues, and improve the service.

f) reCAPTCHAWe use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the login process against automated abuse. Google may collect hardware/software information (e.g., device data, network data) which is sent to Google for analysis; see Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions;
  • Provide risk alerts, watchlists, traveller-safety monitoring, and related features;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the App;
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
  • Comply with legal obligations and contractual commitments to your organization.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

3. How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • With your organization — since the App is provisioned by your employer/client organization, account and usage data may be visible to your organization’s administrators.
  • With service providers — such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, solely to operate the App, under confidentiality obligations.
  • With Google — for Maps and reCAPTCHA functionality, subject to Google’s own privacy practices.
  • For legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mitkat, our users, or others.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encrypted transmission, secure on-device credential storage, and access controls — to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and monitoring data for as long as your organization’s subscription is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data may be deleted or anonymized once it is no longer needed for these purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Since access to the App is provisioned through your organization, such requests should generally be directed to your organization’s administrator, who may coordinate with us. You may also contact us directly using the details below.

7. Children’s Privacy

DatasurfrPro is a business application intended for use by authorized professional users. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under 18.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable data protection laws.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
