The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has jointly issued a flash flood warning for Thursday (01 October). A yellow alert indicates a higher probability of localised flash floods in western Hunan and northeastern Guizhou. A blue alert covers parts of southwestern Hubei, western Hunan, eastern Chongqing and northeastern Guizhou.
Localised short-duration heavy rainfall may also trigger flash floods elsewhere. Authorities have urged real-time monitoring, flood warnings and evacuation and shelter measures.
