As per reports, the Administrația Națională de Meteorologie (ANM) has issued yellow and orange weather alerts for severe thunderstorms and torrential rainfall across eastern and southern regions of Romania from Tuesday (21 July) to Wednesday (22 July).

• Meteorological models indicate the development of an active atmospheric instability system forecast to bring heavy rainfall, frequent thunderstorms, and severe wind gusts.
• A yellow alert is in effect across Muntenia, Dobrogea, eastern Oltenia, southern Moldova, and southeastern Transylvania, bringing short-term precipitation accumulations between 20 millimetres and 30 millimetres, with localized points exceeding 40 millimetres to 50 millimetres.
• Wind gusts in yellow alert zones are forecast to reach speeds between 50 kilometres per hour and 70 kilometres per hour during active convective storm cells, accompanied by small- to medium-sized hail measuring one centimetre to three centimetres in diameter.
• An orange alert is designated from Wednesday (22 July) between 1200 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) and 2200 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) for heavy torrential rainfall across Dobrogea and the eastern Muntenia/Moldova boundary.
• In orange alert sectors, short-term precipitation accumulations between 25 millimetres and 50 millimetres are expected within one to three hours, with isolated locations receiving upwards of 70 millimetres of rainfall.
• The affected areas include Constanța, Mangalia, Medgidia, Tulcea, Galați, Brăila, Călărași, and Slobozia across Constanța, Tulcea, Galați, Brăila, Ialomita, and Călărași counties, with key road corridors at risk including the A2 Autostrada Soarelui, the A4 Highway, the DN22, and the DN39 routes.
