Winter storm warnings in effect in parts of New York State till Friday (16 February)

As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for Northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties till 1300 hours (local time) Friday (16 February).

• Heavy snowfall with total snow accumulations of five to 10 inches as well as strong wind gusts as high as 45 mph is being predicted.
• Areas covered under the warning include the cities of Big Moose, Eagle Bay, McKeever, Old Forge, Atwell, Nobleboro, Northwood, Long Lake, Sabattis, Hoffmeister, and Wells.
• Another winter storm warning has been issued for Southern Herkimer County till 1300 hours (local time) Friday (16 February), due to forecast of heavy snowfall with total snow accumulations of four to nine inches in the vicinity of Route 08, along with strong wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
• Areas covered under the warning include the cities of Ilion, Herkimer, Little Falls, Mohawk, Frankfort, and Dolgeville.
