Winter storm warning issued in Chippewa County until Wednesday (31 December)

As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for Chippewa County, Michigan, effective from 1427 hours (local time) on Tuesday (30 December) until 1900 hours (local time) on Wednesday (31 December).

• Total snow accumulations between four and eight inches are anticipated, with localised totals potentially exceeding ten inches through Wednesday (31 December) evening.
• Wind gusts expected to reach up to 40 mph on Wednesday (31 December) are likely to lead to instances of blowing and drifting snow.
• Hazardous road conditions, including snow-covered and slippery surfaces, are expected to impact commutes from Tuesday (30 December) evening through New Year’s Eve.
• Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are anticipated, particularly during lake-effect snow bands.
