As per reports, BJP state president Sukanta Majumder, along with other BJP leaders, members and activists, were detained on Wednesday (14 February) around 0100 hours (local time) pm in front of the SP office in Basirhat.

Clashes erupted between BJP workers and the police with the protesters reportedly breaking through police barricades. The clash involved stone-pelting, and the police used batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
