The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for Kerala on Sunday (23 June).
• Red alert has been issued for Malappuram. Extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning is forecast.
• Orange alert has been issued for Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Idukki. Very heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning is forecast for these regions.
• Yellow alert has been issued for Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram. Heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning is forecast for these regions.
