The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued weather warnings across all the districts of Assam on Sunday (30 June). Red alert for extremely very heavy rainfall is issued in Tinsukia, Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Bongaigaon districts. Orange alert for heavy rainfall is active in Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Nagaon and Dubrugarh. Meanwhile yellow alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is active in all the remaining districts.
Water level in Brahmaputra river has crossed danger level mark, inundating large parts of the state.
