As per the Thai Meteorological Department, thundershowers are expected in Southern Thailand on Thursday (12 December).
The strong high-pressure system from China has extended to Vietnam and the upper Laos. It is expected to cover the upper Northeast by today (12 Dec). Isolated rains will be recorded in the upper parts of the country. The northeast monsoon which prevails over the Gulf and the South is strengthening with more rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the South. The strong wind forces the waves in the Gulf up to one to two meters high and above two meters high in thundershowers.
• North: The morning will be cool, with a minimum temperature of 18-21 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 32-35 degrees Celsius.
• Northeastern: Morning cool and light fog with isolated rains in the lower part. A minimum temperature of 18-22 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 32-33 degrees Celsius.
• Central: Morning cool and light fog with isolated rains in the lower and eastern parts. A minimum temperature of 21-23 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
• Eastern: Morning light fog and scattered rains, with a minimum temperature of 22-25 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 32-34 degrees Celsius.
• Southern (West Coast): Scattered thundershowers mostly in Ranong, Krabi, Trang, and Satun, with a minimum temperature of 23-25 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 30-32 degrees Celsius.
• Southern (East Coast): Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, with a minimum temperature of 22-24 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28-32 degrees Celsius.
• Bangkok Metropolitan is likely to experience isolated rains with a minimum temperature of 24-26 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
