The Sri Lanka Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory for Sri Lanka for Sunday (05 April). Further details are as follows:
• Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, Eastern and Northcentral provinces after 1400 hours (local time).
• Fairly heavy falls about 50 mm are likely at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Polonnaruwa district.
• Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-central provinces and in Jaffna and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the morning.
• Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Eastern, North-western, Northern and North-central provinces and in Monaragala district.
• On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during Sunday to Wednesday (05-15 April) in this year. The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead on Sunday (05 April) are Dodanduwa, Rathgama, Yakkalamulla, Akuressa, Mulgirigala, Ranna, Kalamatiya and Ussangoda at about 1213 hours.
