As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan forecast rainfall and isolated thunderstorms across Puerto Rico on Wednesday (14 October).
• A 60 percent probability of rainfall is expected, with rainfall likely during the morning hours and isolated thunderstorms developing in the afternoon hours, primarily across the interior, western and southwestern parts of the island.
• Although high pressure at middle and upper atmospheric levels is expected to support gradual stabilization, sufficient moisture and daytime heating may continue to trigger rainfall.
• The NWS indicated that afternoon rainfall and thunderstorms may develop due to solar heating, sea breezes and mountainous terrain, with prevailing winds shifting activity towards western and southwestern Puerto Rico.
• Rainfall and thunderstorm activity is expected to decrease during the night hours, although temporary rainfall may return to wind-exposed areas.
• Winds are forecast from the east to east-northeast at eight to 14 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 20 miles per hour. Maximum temperatures may reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit, with a heat index of up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit in some areas.
• A moderate risk of ocean currents also remains in effect for beaches along the northern and eastern coasts. These conditions may affect road travel, outdoor work and coastal activities.
