As per reports, due to drought and extreme heat conditions across Thailand, water levels at the Lam Takhong Reservoir in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, which supplies water to around five districts has decreased, holding only 111.25 million cubic metres of water, or 35.38 percent of its capacity.

The water level in Lam Mun river in Phimai district has also dropped sharply due to extreme heat, persistent for several weeks. The river is the main source of water for several villages in Phimai district, which is also used it for tap water production and crop cultivation.
