As per reports, Thol. Thirumavalavan, the founder of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), declared state-wide protests on Thursday (04 January), demanding to have the recent floods in northern and southern Tamil Nadu recognised as an ‘extreme disaster’. He also advocated for the reintroduction of ballot papers instead of EVMs for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Additionally, he released a list of party officials tasked with organising protests at each district headquarters in Tamil Nadu. These demonstrations will extend to Puducherry and Karaikal.
