As per the Uttarakhand Police, a traffic advisory has been issued in Dehradun on the occasion of the New Year’s celebration on Wednesday (31 December) to ensure smooth and safe traffic arrangements. Following this, a comprehensive traffic plan has been made, with additional and necessary police force deployed at crowded places (shopping malls/complexes/bars/hotels/resorts/home stays/party places/banquet halls/cafes/Rajpur Road/snow falling places, diversion points, various parking lots, checking points, borders, among others in Dehradun.

Checkpoints have been established to control rash driving, drunken driving, and speeding, while plainclothes personnel have also been deployed. Meanwhile, adequate police force has been deployed at various identified tourist places in the district, such as Mal Devta, Gucchu Pani, Lachhiwal, Sahastradhara, Chakrata, and Mussoorie, among others. In addition, information regarding the traffic volume of vehicles from Asharodi, KolhuKhet, and Lachhiwala toll plazas will be obtained from time to time to gather accurate information about vehicles going inside the city and to Mussoorie.

• Heavy traffic will be restricted on the internal and external roads of the city till Thursday (01 January 2026), and police teams will be deployed in Saharanpur Chowk, Prince Chowk, Tehsil Chowk, Darshan Lal Chowk, Ghantaghar to Ashley Hall to Bahal Chowk (area of Bahal Chowk and the entire area around Parade Ground).
• In addition, the deployment will also be at Saharanpur Chowk, Mandi Chowk, Shimla Bypass Chowk, ISBT Chowk, St. Jude’s Chowk, up to Kamala Palace, ISBT Chowk, Kargi Chowk from Rispana Chowk to Jogiwala Chowk, Bahal Chowk, Naini Bakery, Survey Chowk Sawghar, Fountain Chowk, Chanchal Tiraha to Dharampur Chowk, from Clock Tower to Bindal to Kishan Nagar to Ballupur Chowk to Prem Nagar Chowk, from Supply Chowki via Kimadi to Hathi Paon, from Lotus Chowk to Canal Road, Balasundari, Kathbangla, IT Park (entire area of Lotus Chowk), from Kamala Palace to Ballupur Chowk, from Balliwala Chowk to Kanwali Road, Saharanpur Chowk, among other areas in the city.
• The route plan for tourists going from Delhi to Roorkee or Saharanpur via Mohand to Mussoorie is provided via Delhi, Roorkee, Saharanpur to Mohand- Asharodi – ISBT – Shimla Bypass St. Judes Chowk Ballupur Chowk – Garhi Cantt Tiraha Anarwala Tiraha – Johri Village – Mussoorie Road – Kuthal Gate – Mussoorie.
• Route plan for tourists going from Delhi to Haridwar – Rishikesh to Mussoorie via Jogiwala will be provided firstly from Haridwar / Rishikesh, Harrawala – Mohkampur Flyover – Jogiwala – U Turn Kailash Hospital – Culvert No. 06 – Ring Road – Ladpur Tiraha – Sahastradhara Crossing IT Park Kirshali Chowk – Sai Mandir Tiraha – Mussoorie Diversion – Kuthalgate – Mussoorie.
• In addition, the case of heavy congestion, the other arrangements will be made on Haridwar – Nepali Farm Tiraha – Bhaniyawala Tiraha – Airport Tiraha – Thano Road – Maharana Pratap Chowk Ladpur Tiraha – Sahastradhara Crossing – IT Park Kirshali Chowk – Sai Mandir Tiraha – Mussoorie Diversion – via Kuthalgate to Mussoorie.
• The return route from Mussoorie to Delhi / Saharanpur / Roorkee / Rishikesh / Haridwar / Vikasnagar will be via Mussoorie – Kuthal Gate – Old Rajpur Road – Rajpur – Sai Temple – Kirshali Chowk – IT Park – Tapovan Bypass Road – Nalapani Chowk – Tapovan Gate – Ladpur Tiraha – Culvert No. 06 – From Jogiwala you can go towards Rishikesh / Haridwar / ISBT.
• Meanwhile, the return journey from Delhi/NCR/UP/Kumaon region to Rishikesh/Muni-ki-Reti and other hill districts will be via Saptarishi Raiwala – Nepali Farm – Bhaniyawala – Ranipokhari – Natraj Chowk Rishikesh etc.
• In the case of traffic congestion on Pacific Mall / Rajpur Road, traffic coming from Mussoorie towards Ghantaghar will be diverted from Sai Mandir Tiraha towards IT Park, while traffic coming from Annexe / CSD Tiraha (Near Raj Bhavan) towards Dilaram Chowk will be diverted via Johri village.
• In case of traffic pressure at Ghantaghar, traffic will be diverted from Orient Chowk / Buddha Chowk / Tehsil Chowk as per requirement.
