As per reports, the US weather forecast from Saturday (22 August) to Monday (24 August) is as follows:

• The National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center issued its short range forecast from Saturday (22 August) to Monday (24 August), valid from 1200 hours UTC on Saturday (22 August) until 1200 hours UTC on Monday (24 August).
• Organised rainfall and thunderstorms are moving east over the southern Plains/Southwest and is expected to bring unsettled conditions across the Rockies/Plains into eastern U.S. into early next week. At the surface, the low over the Great Lakes/Ohio Valley is expected to continue to strengthen, while frontal boundaries begin to merge. The slow moving boundary is expected to drape across the Ohio Valley/Mid-Atlantic, into the Southeast and southern Plains by Saturday (22 August).
• Additionally, Storm Prediction Center highlights a severe thunderstorm threat capable of producing severe hail and wind across portions of southern Plains and Ohio
Valley/Great Lakes/Mid-Atlantic for Saturday (22 August), while the threat is confined to the Northeast by Sunday (23 August). Further affected areas include Georgia, Carolinas, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
• Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect across parts of the southern tier which are expected to remain dominated by the upper-level ridging centered over the Southwest. This is expected to maintain above normal temperatures into next week. The dangerous heat is expected to build across south-central U.S. and Southwest with daytime highs of 100-110 degrees fahrenheit across the Southern Plains into the Southwest, with numerous record breaking highs. With little to no overnight relief, as minimum temperatures are expected to remain warm, and high humidity, heat indices may reach 105-115 degrees fahrenheit. Affected areas include California, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada.
