As per reports, the US National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Prediction Center (WPC) has forecast heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, flash flooding, and elevated heat across several regions from Wednesday (02 September) to Friday (04 September).
• Heavy rainfall is forecast across Texas and Louisiana on Wednesday (02 September), as Tropical Depression Edouard moves northward across eastern Texas and weakens. A Moderate Risk of excessive rainfall is in effect over parts of eastern Texas, with localised flash flooding.
• Reports indicate that heavy rainfall is forecast across New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut on Wednesday (02 September), with a Slight Risk of excessive rainfall issued over parts of these states. Localised flash flooding may occur in areas receiving repeated thunderstorms.
• Reportedly, a broad Marginal Risk of excessive rainfall extends across Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan, with lingering thunderstorms potentially producing heavy rainfall on Wednesday (02 September).
• Severe thunderstorms are expected across Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota and South Dakota from Wednesday (02 September) into Thursday morning (03 September), with frequent lightning, severe wind gusts, hailstorm and a few tornadoes possible.
• Rainfall and severe thunderstorms are expected across Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee on Wednesday (02 September) and Thursday (03 September), with a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms issued across parts of the Lower Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, Central Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic.
• Rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas through Thursday (03 September), with heavy rainfall possible along the Southeast and Gulf Coast.
• Monsoonal moisture is expected to increase across Arizona, New Mexico and Utah on Wednesday (02 September) and Thursday (03 September), with thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. The activity is expected to continue into Friday (04 September).
• Rainfall is forecast across Washington, Oregon and California from Wednesday (02 September) through Friday (04 September), while rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to develop across Idaho and western Montana as the weather system moves inland.
• Heat is expected to build across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania from Wednesday (02 September) through Friday (04 September). Heat Advisories have been issued across portions of the affected areas.
