As per reports, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit Iceland, Greece and Portugal from Monday (05 October) to Thursday (08 October) to discuss economic, security and defence cooperation.
• US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to begin the visit in Reykjavik, where he is expected to meet Icelandic officials to discuss economic and security cooperation.
• In Athens, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to lead the US delegation at the sixth session of the US-Greece Strategic Dialogue, which is scheduled to address defence, energy, regional security and other areas of bilateral cooperation.
• US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is then scheduled to travel to Lisbon for discussions with Portuguese officials on defence, economic and technology cooperation.
• The visit forms part of US diplomatic engagement with the three European countries on security, economic and technology-related issues.
