As per reports, Johor Public Works, Transport, and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Mahamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh confirmed on Wednesday (21 May) that operations at the Sungai Johor water treatment plant were halted on Tuesday (20 May). Repair works at the water treatment plant are ongoing and are expected to be finished by 0700 hours on Thursday (22 May).
100,000 homes are currently experiencing water supply disruptions due to the affected treatment plant. The government has deployed 16 water tankers to critical locations such as hospitals, health centers, and other public areas.
