As per reports, the following are the updates on the water scarcity issue in Telangana as of Thursday (04 April):

• The Telangana State Government on Wednesday (03 April) has appointed 10 special IAS officers to monitor the supply of drinking water across Telangana. These officers are appointed specific districts and will coordinate with the district collectors and state level departments to monitor the situation until the end of July.
• CM Revanth Reddy has directed officials to utilize local water resources in May and June, prepare action plans on the village level, and ensure timely delivery of water tankers to all consumers within 12 hours. He further said that water tanks will be made available in all Municipalities and Municipal Corporations.
• Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao has protested against the Chief Minister, accusing him of a drought-like situation across the state. He has demanded free water tanker supply to all.
• The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) will hold a meeting on Thursday (04 April) in Hyderabad between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh officials for the release of 5 tmcft of water from the Sagar dam into Andhra Pradesh.
• The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is increasing efforts to provide piped water supply to all consumers amid a water shortage. Emergency pumping will start at Nagarjuna Sagar on 15 April and at Yellampally on 01 May.
