The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the latest tropical weather outlook on Friday (18 September) and the following details remain valid as of Saturday (19 September):
• The upper air cyclonic circulation is expected to influence a Low Pressure Area (LPA) over north Andaman Sea around 1730 hours (local time) on Saturday (19 September).
• Then, it is expected to intensify gradually and move west-northwestwards towards south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh during the next three to four days, which could be by Monday (21 September) or Tuesday (22 September).
• Additionally, the probability of cyclogenesis (formation of depression) is low during next 48-72 hours, which is by Sunday (20 September) or Monday (21 September). The probability remains moderate during next 72-96 hours which is between Monday (21 September) and Tuesday (22 September) while it remains high during the next 96-120 hours which is between Tuesday (22 September) and Wednesday (23 September).
