As per reports, heavy rain reported in the Tri-State Area has created severe travel disruptions as of Saturday (23 March). Flood waters across New York has rendered several roadways non-commute worthy.

• Several automobiles have been reportedly stuck in flooding on the Cross Island Parkway. The flooding has largely receded, but roads in College Point continue to be severely inundated.
• In New Jersey, emergency management teams closely observing flooding near the Saddle River. A peak is anticipated at about 2000 hours local time on Saturday (23 March).
• New York’s MTA has communicated that, they don’t expect the rain to overwhelm the subway system completely, but they say they will be ready to handle any spot emergencies.
• Officials with the Department of Buildings are also asking property owners, contractors and crane operators to take precautionary measures during the day. Along with the heavy rainfall, authorities have also warned potential wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.
