As per reports, storm Martinho is expected to approach the Vizcaya Gulf, and may bring persistent snowfall to northern Spain and strong winds along the Cantabrian coast on Sunday (23 March).

• The State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) has issued warnings for snowfall at elevations of 800-1,200 meters in the northern and central regions, while the snow level in the south and Mediterranean areas is expected to range between 1,000-1,400 meters.
• Significant snowfall is expected by the end of the day in the Oscense Pyrenees, León Montes, Picos de Europa, and the Central System. Additionally, sporadic snow or rain showers may occur at lower elevations on both plateaus.
• AEMET has activated orange warnings along the Cantabrian coast due to strong westerly winds reaching 50-70 kilometres per hour, along with waves between five and six meters in coastal areas.
• Other regions in Spain are expected to experience cloudy conditions with occasional heavy rainfall, particularly in Galicia, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Alborán Sea. Light to moderate rainfall may also occur in the South Plateau, Balearic Islands, and the northern Mediterranean coast.
• Temperatures are expected to continue to drop across the country, with notable reductions of up to five degrees Celsius in the northern plateau, particularly in León, Zamora, Palencia, and Burgos. Aragon, Ávila, Madrid, and the Valencian coast may also experience temperature declines of around three degrees Celsius on average.
