Update on public demonstration scheduled against Argentine President Javier Milei’s visit to Paris on Friday (02 October)

As per reports, Argentine President Javier Milei is undertaking a three-day visit to Paris from Wednesday (30 September) to Friday (02 October) to participate in the second edition of ‘Argentina Week’ (Semaine Argentine), an economic forum aimed at promoting Argentine investment potential and attracting international investors.

• The Argentina in Struggle Collective Paris has called for a public demonstration against Argentine President Javier Milei’s visit to Paris on Friday (02 October). The demonstration is scheduled from 1800 local time (1600 hours UTC) to 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) at Place de la République.
• The mobilisation is expected to feature an artistic performance, music and speeches, with participants protesting against the Argentine government’s economic policies, alleged repression and extractive activities.
• The demonstration follows earlier mobilisation by the Assembly of Argentine Citizens in France (ACAF) at Trocadéro on Wednesday (30 September), coinciding with Argentine President Javier Milei’s visit.
