As per reports, multiple instances of vandalism and arson were reported across Bangladesh on Friday (05 January) ahead of national elections scheduled to be held on Sunday (07 January).

• Five election camps of Awami League candidate Barrister Nizam Uddin Jalil of Naogaon-5 constituency, were set ablaze and vandalized by miscreants in different areas of Sadar upazila early Friday.
• These incidents took place in Chakprasad Hindu Para, Anandnagar, Chandipur, Shingbacha, and Chakchapai areas of Shailgachi Union.
• Meanwhile, a school designated as a polling centre was set on fire by unidentified individuals in Sonagazi upazila of Feni.
• One of the rooms of the centre was partially damaged in the fire, but no polling booths had been set up there, and election equipment has yet to reach the centre.
