The following are the latest updates on the ongoing Maratha reservation protest by Maratha activist Manoj Jarange at Antarwali Sarathi in Jalna district, as of Tuesday (15 September):
• Activist Manoj Jarange-Patil announced on Monday (14 September) that he would travel to Mumbai on Tuesday (15 September) to stage a protest at Azad Maidan.
• He plans to depart from Antarwali Sarati in Jalna district at 1100 hours (local time) and stated that ten people and two ambulances would accompany him along the planned route.
• Manoj Jarange-Patil has been denied permission to stage an indefinite hunger strike in Mumbai from Saturday (19 September) due to security concerns during the ongoing Ganeshotsav festivities.
• Manoj Jarange-Patil has appealed to members of the Maratha community not to converge on Mumbai immediately, while continuing his indefinite fast at Antarwali Sarati.
