As per reports, following are the latest updates related to the ongoing unrest in Manipur, as of Monday (17 August):
• On Saturday (15 August) during a search operation in the general areas of Khozoul, Choudhrikhal under Borobekra-PS, Jiribam district, security forces recovered arms and ammunition. Security forces also arrested a member of PREPAK (Pro) from his residence under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.
• On Sunday (16 August), security forces arrested an active cadre s/s Private of UNLF (Koireng), from RIMS Road area, Imphal West District.
• On Friday (14 August) on getting reliable information regarding concealment of arms and ammunition by armed groups, a combined team of CDO Unit/Kakching, Arong-PS and 46 Assam Rifles launched a search operation at Double Khong Marifangbi canal area under Arong Police Station, during which recoveries were made.
• Arms and ammunition were also recovered by security forces recovered from Awa-Ching under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district on Friday (14 August).
