The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall and thunderstorms in Mumbai on Tuesday (29 September).
• Nowcast: An orange alert has been issued for Mumbai Suburban district, indicating moderate rainfall of five to15 millimetres per hour, accompanied by moderate thunderstorms and maximum surface wind speeds of 41–61 kilometres per hour.
• Reports further indicate heavy rainfall of 70–80 millimetres per hour, which may result in waterlogging across several areas of Mumbai.
