The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued an advisory stating that a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) developed into a Tropical Depression. The following are the latest updates as of 1600 hours (local time) on Tuesday (26 May):
• The center of the Tropical Depression was estimated to be at a distance of 1360 kilometres east of Northeastern Mindanao.
• There are maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometres per hour (kmph) near the center with gustiness of up to 55 kmph and central pressure of 1004 hPa.
• For the next 12 hours, that is, until 0200 hours (local time) on Wednesday (27 May), the Tropical Depression system is expected to move in northwest direction at the speed of 10 kmph.
• The system is expected to enter PAR only on Friday (29 May).
