As per reports, the flood situation in Assam deteriorated sharply on Tuesday (14 July), with the death toll rising to four and the number of affected people increasing to more than 37,000.
A total of 37,032 people have been affected by the floods, with Lakhimpur emerging as the worst-hit district. The state government is distributing relief materials through 20 relief distribution centres, while the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued 16 people from Sonitpur during the past 24 hours.
