Update on farmers’ march from Nashik to Mumbai as of Wednesday (28 January)

As of late evening on Tuesday (27 January), the farmers’ long march crossed the Kasara Ghat and is expected to enter the Thane district on Wednesday (28 January).

A delegation of 12 people, including J.P. Gavit, leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), along with others, met the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who assured the members of the delegation that their demands would be fulfilled. Following the meeting, there is a possibility that the long march will be called off on Wednesday (28 January). Further details are awaited.
