As per reports, following are the latest updates on the nationwide delivery workers’ strike scheduled for Wednesday (31 December):
• The scheduled protest is likely to be underway as of 1030 hours on Wednesday (31 December), however, there are no reports of disruptions on open-source media platforms or on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter).
• However, larger participation than the 25 December strike is expected through the day.
• There are also reports stating that a large portion of delivery partners do not participate in the strike due to a fear of income loss or termination of their IDs, and also to cater for expenses such as food and family support.
• With reference to the previous strike impacting Gurugram severely, similar impact can be expected through other parts of Delhi-NCR.
• The possibility of cab drivers participating in support of delivery workers cannot be ruled out, possibly resulting in travel disruptions through the New Year’s Eve night.
