As per reports, following are the latest updates on Cyclone Remal as of Wednesday (29 May):

• As of Wednesday (29 May), the death toll stands at around 61. 17 deaths were reported in Bangladesh, eight deaths reported in West Bengal, two deaths reported in Meghalaya, three deaths reported in Assam, and four deaths reported in Nagaland.
• In Mizoram, 21 confirmed deaths due to landslides have been reported, however, officials have stated that the original toll may exceed 30 as several people have been reported missing and may be feared dead.
• In Assam, deaths were reported in Kamrup, Morigaon and North Lakhipur districts as per the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.
• Incessant rainfall have impacted Tripura, with around 500 houses partly damaged, around 100 houses severely damaged and seven houses fully damaged. Trees have been uprooted across several places in Agartala, Gandhigram, Gandhigram, Bardowali, Sekerkote, Buddha Mandir, Gomati, Khowai, Kumarghat, amongst other areas.
• Power supply and transportation disruptions have been reported across the affected states in north-east India.
• In Kolkata, over uprooted 500 trees have been reported. Civic authorities have been continuing their tree removal operations.
• In Manipur, schools have been closed until Friday amid safety concerns.
• With severe flooding reported in the West District of Tripura resulting in the inundation of houses, at least 280 people were moved to 10 relief camps.
• Hospitals in Imphal have reported flooding, disrupting medical services at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). Around 40 percent of the services have been suspended.
